A Passive Harmonic Filter is pictured to the left.
This harmonic filter is used at each well and only becomes active
when the VFD Drive is running. This filter will reduce your energy
costs and eliminate damaged equipment when compared to a pole mounted
filter used for multiple wells. Pole mounted filters are designed
for full load and are always consuming energy. The voltage increases
in pole mounted filters as equipment is turned off. The voltage
can increase to a point which will damage panel devices. In addition,
if a pole mounted filter fails, all wells connected to the filter
will cease to operate. |
